George Town

George Town is situated approximately 40 minutes north of Launceston and boasts stunning beaches, a colony of little penguins, and a newly established trail network consisting of two separate trail systems, namely Mount George and Tippogoree Hills.

At the Mount George trail hub, riders can enjoy 16km of gravity-fed trails, spread out across 10 trails that cater to different skill levels. These include fun and flowy green trails, incrementally more challenging blue trails, and a black diamond trail for the more daring riders. The trails at Mount George are designed to be short and sharp, with a focus on progression, making them a perfect introduction for riders looking to try out more challenging trails. In addition to well-crafted berms and rollers, riders will also encounter long rock gardens to navigate and optional off-camber high lines to add some enduro flair to their run. Despite its smaller size, Mount George offers trails suitable for riders of every level, making it a versatile and enjoyable spot for mountain biking.

Once completed the Tippogoree Hills mountain bike trail network will offer 57km of cross-country and all-mountain riding, featuring stunning views of the Tamar River and Bass Strait. The trails range from beginner-friendly green trails to technical double black diamond trails, with plenty of options for intermediate riders.
