Unfortunately, due to... read more the strong winds, we could not start right at the summit, but I don't think anyone was in disagreement. We did start a little bit down the mountain and so there was plenty of time to do a good run. We then had a few minutes break and then Rich and Gary loaded the bikes and then took us to the rainforest trail. This was really fun - many different kinds of trail surfaces and vegetation types. Highly recommend this activity if you are reasonably comfortable on a bike.

I was a bit worried that I might not be up to several hours of mountain biking but, as it was largely all downhill, that wasn't an issue. You are less than half an hour out of Hobart, but get to see some wonderful different scenery.

They are friendly, knowledgeable and funny, if you have ANY riding experience, you can do this ride. Our first stop was the top of Mt. Wellington where we were shown breathtaking views of Hobart and the surrounding area. We then took a leisurely ride down the mountain making a few stops. Afterwards we went to the other side of the mountain and rode through the forest. It was AMAZING. WE SAW A EICHNED (hedgehog/porcupine) on the side I of the road and a group of wallabies. Many stops along the way with good views and waterfalls. Zoey and Rich were friendly and welcoming and we met any new friends from London and Australia. Nice little marketplace across the street from the headquarters if you want a snack or something for the ride. The bikes we used were top notch and well maintained. Definitely worth the money.

When we got back to their shop, we were in a rush to get back to our cruise ship because we had another excursion scheduled for that evening so they drove us down and we made it just on time to our evening excursion. We met in town, boarded the van and headed up the mountain to the summit. It was very cold and windy at the top of Mt Wellington, but once we were all comfortable, we set off down the road for a beautiful ride and a fun way to take in the scenery. A great way to get an overview of Hobart and its surrounds, with views and vistas, plus an understanding of Mt Wellington. An excellent experience all round, with much thanks to our guides.
