Tour Overview

Experience one of Hobart's most spectacular and accessible bike adventures.

Start with a shuttle to the summit of Mt Wellington, 1270m above sea level. Enjoy spectacular 360-degree views across the state, before a thrilling 6km mountain road descent with more incredible vistas over the city and southern peninsula.

The adventure continues with an 12km rainforest ride descending the historic Pipeline Track, lead by one of our expert local guides.

Roll past towering eucalyptus, giant tree ferns, waterfalls, wildlife, and historic aqueducts.

This ride is one of the best ways to experience Mt Wellington's stunning vistas, landscapes, and rainforest.

The Mt Wellington: Summit Descent & Rainforest Adventure Ride was an incredible experience. Every aspect of it was so well organised and communicated. The team are great, personable and an absolute pleasure to be around. The ride was insanely fun with the highlight being the summit descent. What an exhilarating experience!

We had been to Hobart many times before, but never ventured up to Mt Wellington/kunanyi. Booked this based on reviews and had a great time seeing Hobart through a different lens, on two wheels. We got lucky with the weather - next day Mt Wellington was covered in snow and the roads closed. Thanks Phil for sharing your experience and local knowledge.

What a brilliant and amazing adventure we had with the team. Phil guided us expertly with understanding about the area and trails, while still ensuring that all our family could enjoy the adventure despite our mixed ability in mountain biking, giving tips and helping everyone enjoy the whole experience. The team has a range of routes for varying abilities, so If anyone is thinking to try it out or explore the many trails in Tasmania a different way, connect with the team. We couldn't recommend them any more highly!!

My best experience in Hobart. Even though I was not experienced in biking, my tour guide Phil made the experience not stressful at all with his excellent guidance. Best wishes to the team.

I had an amazing time with Zoe and Rich on Saturday 11th July 2026. They were easy to communicate with (I was a solo traveler so needed to book in on a date with other travellers as there is a minimum number to run the mountain bike tour), and they also gave great recommendations on where to find platypus in the local area! (Spotted one at the Hobart Rivulet!). Their office is in South Hobart, so about a 25min walk from the city centre (or 6min drive). The tour was well organised, bike equipment was great (including helmet, gloves, visibility vest), they took us up to Mt Wellington summit in a minivan and we got to cycle down with spectacular views. We also did 2 trails as well - so great to be active whilst on holiday! Rich also enriched our scenic mountain bike tour with some local flavour, facts and anecdotes. Highly recommended!

I had an amazing time on my Tasmanian mountain bike journey. It started really high up with awesome views, and it was so much fun riding slowly down the mountain. The instructor was kind, helpful, and made everyone feel safe, and the other riders were really friendly too. The trails were great, and the whole experience was fun from start to finish. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and would love to do it again. Thank you Phil! Greatest instructor.

Did the 90-minute group skills session with Tasmanian Mountain Bike Adventures and had a brilliant time. Booking and bike hire were both really easy, and Ollie was a patient, encouraging coach who explained things clearly and gave us plenty of individual feedback. Came away feeling much more confident on the bike. Great value for money — highly recommend!
